Message from the Chair

Mr. Morten Steen Petersen

The last decades have seen considerable changes in the importance of logistics and transport in trade and development. Recognising the importance of this evolution, a number of leading companies in research and consultancy in this field gathered aiming to form a cluster of excellence in applied knowledge in transport, infrastructure planning and logistics. This was the origin of ELITE.

Today the ELITE mission is clear, we aim to be an effective contributor to the consolidation of the “Lisbon strategy” by fostering the development of the competencies that will enable a better understanding of the consequences of transport, infrastructure and logistics policies in Europe

To achieve this aim ELITE provides training and coaching to its members, specialised seminars, public discussions and, last but not least, an extensive wealth of research material produced by its members, organised in a knowledge platform that serves as an effective training medium for all new comers to this sector.

Our instruments are applied knowledge, systemic thinking and investment in people, our ambition is to be recognised as a valid counterpart in strategic decisions, policy and research programs, our commitment is to serve the community of consultants and researchers enabling an effective contribution to the improvement of knowledge and quality of decision making in transport, infrastructure planning and logistics in Europe
