Organisation & Objectives

Early 2000, a group of well-known research and consulting firms active in the field of transport, logistics and infrastructure, established the ELITE Network. Since December 16th 2004 the network became an independent legal entity; the ELITE Association. The ELITE Association - short for European Logistics, Infrastructure and Transport Expertise Association - aims at bundling the expertise, experiences and knowledge of leading transport research and consulting firms throughout Europe. The variety in background and specialisation of the organisations participating in ELITE gives the association a broad expertise. At this moment the ELITE Association consists of sixteen members from twelve countries.

Organisation

The ELITE Association consists of member organisation from several countries. Together the members form the highest body of the association; the General Assembly. The Board of Directors consists of three members who each is responsible for various tasks.

Objectives of the ELITE Association

The overall objective of the ELITE Association is to function as an association of excellence for international research, consultancy and training in transport, infrastructure and logistics.

This includes the following, more specific objectives:

  • improving the professional quality of the members and increasing the quality level of European research and training in the fields of transport, logistics and infrastructure;
  • improving the quality and efficiency of projects by bundling pan-European expertise;
  • offering advice and acting as an interlocutor for the European Commission and other (inter)national organisations on the development of transport policy and transport research programmes;
  • representing the interests of the members by establishing stable relationships with other international organisations.
