The ELITE Association

It was my privilege to be appointed Chairman of ELITE at our General Assembly meeting in Paris in 2011. I have been a member of the ELITE since 2006, and I have seen first hand the benefits and advantages that our association can bring. During my term as Chairman, I hope to emulate the hard work and success of my predecessor, Morten Steen Petersen, and would like to take this opportunity to thank him and the other board members for all that they have achieved with ELITE over the past years.

The ELITE mission remains as always, to be an effective contributor to the consolidation of the "Libson strategy" by fostering the development of competencies that will enable a better understanding of the consequence of transport, infrastructure, and logistics policies in Europe.

To achieve this aim, ELITE provides regular training and coaching sessions for its members, as well as specialised seminars, public discussions and a wealth of research material to serve as a training medium and knowledge base for all of those who are just starting out in the sector.

Our instruments are applied knowledge, systematic thinking and investment in people, our ambition is to be recognised as a valid counterpart in strategic decisions, policy and research programs, and our commitment is to serve the community of consultants and researchers enabling an effective contribution to the improvement of knowledge and quality of decision making in transport, infrastructure planning and logistics in Europe.

One of the fundamental great strengths of ELITE is in the diversity and expertise of its members. We are continuously looking to build on this by welcoming new members to the ELITE association. Join us now, and contribute to the development of new competitive advantages in Europe.

Mr. Jukka-Pekka Pitkänen
